Results of the AKM Video Meteor Network - September 2003

The unusually good weather in central Europe continued also in September.
Even though nobody could observe in 31 nights as in August, the up to 26
observing nights per observer are still an outstanding result. Thanks to
the increasing night lengths we collected almost 950 hours of effective
observing time, even though Orlando Benitez-Sanchez from the Canaries had
to pause because of computer problems, and Mirko Nitschke from Germany
finished his observations.
On the other hand we could welcome a new member of the AKM network. Stane
Slavec of Ljubljana / Slovenia has been operating his image intensified
camera with approx. 50 deg fov diameter since June 2002. Due to a software
configuration error, his data from last year contained large position errors
and had to be deleted. However, his 2003 data were appended to the video
database in the last few days. Overall Stane collected already more than a
hundred observing nights this years, so that he belongs to the most active
observers of the network.
