In 2008, a refined automatic meteor shower search has been carried out. It was based on the full data set of the IMO Video Meteor Database until August 2008, containing 359,957 single station meteors. Details were presented at the IMC 2008 and can be found in the corresponding presentation and paper.
Beware that improved analysis results were presented in 2009!
In principle, the search consists of two stages.
Whereas the RadFind tool has undergone a major revision since the last analysis in 2006 (see the IMC presentation for details), the algorithm of the StrmFind tool was not yet modified. There is a good chance to detect meteor showers in the radiant list that were not yet noticed by the automatic shower search. For this reason, the preliminary results of the first stage are published once more.
The following table contains a link for each solar longitude. Each file contains the number of meteors that were available in the given solar longitude interval, as well as details of the individual radiants:
Beware that only the strongest radiants on top of the list will be real, whereas all weaker ones are only by chance alignments of meteors.
